Ben Arthur Davis, Jr., 87, of Jackson, MS, departed for his heavenly home on January 19, 2018. He was born in Meridian, MS, on October 27, 1930.
Mr. Davis was proud to serve his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He graduated from Auburn University, Auburn AL, with a major in Forest Management.
He served as Executive Vice President of the Miss. Forestry Association, established his own association management firm (Ben Davis Associates) and formed Testing Services, Inc., from which he retired in 2002.
He enjoyed gardening, investing, and taking care of his family. He was a Life Deacon at First Baptist Church of Jackson and took pleasure in being able to provide financial assistance to people who desired to go on mission trips outside the U.S.
He was a faithful husband to his wife of 63 years, Georgia Coleman Davis, and a loving father to his two children, Anne Davis Brumfield (Jimmy) of Madison, MS, and Ben Arthur Davis, III (Julie) of Hoover, AL. He was proud of his grandchildren, Ben Coleman Davis (Julie) of Ann Arbor, MI, and Lauren Davis Bumpous (Kyle) of Thornton, CO, and of his two great-grandsons, Coleman and Cason Bumpous.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Arthur Davis, mother, Sarah Combs Davis, and sister, Sarah Emma Davis.
It was his desire to set a clear example of faithful service to his Lord in all he did and to manage well the resources with which the Lord had entrusted Him.
Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery, Meridian, 11:00, Thursday, followed by Visitation at Weidmanns Restaurant. On Friday, there will be Visitation at 10:00 and the Celebration Memorial Service at 11:00 at First Baptist Church, Jackson, MS.
