Billie C.'s Story
QUITMAN Funeral services for Billie C. Miller were held Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Gene Neal officiating.
Pallbeares were Carson Miller, Vaughn Threatt, John Samuel Dailey, Danny Mars, Dwight Bennett and Bill Avera.
Mrs. Miller, 87, of Quitman, passed away on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at H. C. Watkins Hospital in Quitman. She was born on Sept. 6, 1930, to Harvey and Fannie Chestnut in Clarke County.
Mrs. Miller was retired from the Social Security Administration in Meridian. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Quitman, where she was a preschool Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a longtime member of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Miller was adored by her family and loved by her friends and neighbors. She will be remembered as a soft-spoken, gracious lady with a gentle spirit who spent her life serving those around her. She always put the needs of others ahead of her own and exemplified the kind of life that Christ calls us all to live. She was the heart of her family and leaves them all with dear memories and a beautiful legacy of selfless love.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband of 64 years, Loyd Miller; sons, Davis (Joni) Miller and Gregory (Lynn) Miller; grandchildren, Callie Miller (Vaughn) Threatt, Blair Miller (John) Dailey and Carson Campbell Miller; great-grandchildren, Ethan Threatt and Emma Threatt; brothers, Robert C. Mars and Eddie Ray Chestnut; and sister, Evelyn Headrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Fannie Chestnut; brother, J. W. Mars and sister, Gleanice Heathcock.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or your favorite charity.
Visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, at 5 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home.
