Funeral services for Billy Gib Banks will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bob Null and Pastor David Chandler officiating. Interment will follow at Meridian Memorial Park with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Billy Gib Banks, 86, went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 30, 2018.
Billy was born in Neshoba County on March 15, 1931 and He also served in the U. S. Army. He was a faithful member of First Assembly Meridian for 66 years. He loved his church and served the Lord faithfully. He loved to bless and help others. As a family we were blessed by our Dad's devotion to our mother, his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was loved and admired by many with his Christian values and his love for the Lord.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-seven years , Marilyn Vance Banks; children, Sheryl (Blake) Clark, Cindy (Keith) Edwards, Allen Banks, Debra Corbitt, Billy Gene (Letitia) Banks; grandchildren Chris Alderson, Chad (Bexx) Clark, Josh Clark, Jonathan Edwards, Amber (Stephen) Maranto, Kim (Steven) Hart, Jeffrey Corbitt, Andrea Banks, Anna Grace Banks, and Aaron Banks, Amanda Joyner and Dylan Corbitt; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Ora Maude Smith; and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Effie Banks; two brothers, Jack Banks, John Banks and three sisters, Rebecca Burns, Ida George Woodard and Nell Petty (Twin).
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Chris Alderson, Chad Clark, Josh Clark, Jonathan Edwards, Jeffrey Corbitt, Dylan Corbitt and Aaron Banks. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 11:00 -1:00p.m. at the funeral home.
