Charles Edward Brown, 66, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 in Ocean Springs.
Charles was born in Meridian on October 30, 1950, to William Lee and Earlene Hodges Brown. For those who didn't know him, he was a pillar in Mississippi Education and a Mississippi Army National Guard Veteran. He was an educator for over 30 years. He started out as a math teacher and eventually served as a principal for many Mississippi School Districts; Yazoo, Hattiesburg, and Gautier to name a few. He also served as Director of Education for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and CEO of the Mississippi School of Math and Science. He was an individual who helped those in need.
Charles is survived by two older brothers, James Don Brown and William Lee Brown II and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was a very humble and private man and at his request and arrangements there will be no services. He is loved and will be missed by many and we honor his last wishes.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Charles to Mississippi School of Math and Science, 1100 College St., MUW-1627 Columbus, MS 39701. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obrytantokeefe.com
