Funeral services for Claude Scott Bailey, Jr. will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Dr. Tom Sikes officiating. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Bailey, age 79, of Meridian, passed away June 6, 2018 at North Pointe Health & Rehab.
Scott was born March 22, 1939 in Meridian and attended Poplar Springs Elementary School, Kate Griffin Jr. High, and graduated from Meridian High School in 1957. He received a degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University in 1962, and entered the finance business with his father at White System of Meridian, Inc. He was in partnership with Terry White at First Credit Corporation, Russell Brown at Best Credit Corporation, Jim Donahue at Loans Express, Inc. and owned Metro Loan. He retired in 2015. He was a member of the Titanic Investment Club and the Meridian Loan Exchange. Weightlifting was his passion, and in his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, fishing, all Mississippi State sports, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Kay Parker; children, Mary Katherine Bryan (Kathy) and husband Walter Nap Bryan, Claude Scott Bailey III (Scotty) and wife Renee; grandchildren, Ashley Katherine Sheffer and husband (Jared), Bailey Michelle Bryan, and Shelton Scott Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Scott Bailey and Mary Pauline McRoy Bailey.
