Clyde S. Ricketts


Funeral services for Mr. Clyde S. Ricketts will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, at 11:30 a.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with the Revs. Ben Jones and Joshua Whitaker officiating. Burial will be held at the Mississippi Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Newton. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Mr. Ricketts, 97, of Butler, Ala., and formerly of Lauderdale, Miss., passed away on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Ricketts served his country in the Marines during World War II. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor he did not wait for his country to enlist him, he passionately enlisted himself. During his years of military service he served in the South Pacific. Mr. Ricketts earned a Purple Heart. Upon returning home, Mr. Ricketts worked as a salesman until his retirement. He was a member of Gateway Church of Lauderdale.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandy Ricketts Wilkinson (Bobby) and Patsy Ricketts Santerelli; grandchildren, Carla Gable (Mark) of Quitman, Miss., Walton McKee (Rachel) of Lauderdale, Miss., Shannon Santerelli of Nashville, Tenn., and Logan Santerelli of Nashville, Tenn.; two great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mrs. June Ricketts.

Mr. Clyde was such a sweet man. He will be greatly missed. I used to love to sit and visit with him when he came to church on Wednesday nights.
