Graveside services for Faye Joyner will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Brother Leslie Aucoin officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Joyner, age 85, of Meridian, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Faye was a veteran of the United States Navy. She was the first woman to enlist as a career WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) in Meridian, Mississippi. While on leave she met Wilson Joyner. For Faye and Wilson, it was love at first sight after knowing one another for 3 days they said their vows and had a passionate, impenetrable marriage of 66 years. Faye was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and the resilient matriarch of her family. She accompanied Wilson on numerous military tours throughout the world, always ensuring that her familys home was a place of warmth and love.
She is survived by: husband, Wilson Bill C. Joyner; daughters, Pamuelia Millich of Huntsville, Alabama and Stephanie Gustin of Meridian, Mississippi; son, Scott Joyner (Angela) of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren, Stephen Nick Millich, Jeremy J.J. Millich, Beth Millich, Marvin Charles Iseke, Rachel Joyner, Suzie Hunter, Stevie Joyner, Robert Joyner and James Joyner; numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Elbert and Bessie Daniels and brothers, Rudolph Daniels and Chester Daniels.
