Mrs. Jones passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 at Anderson Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Faye was an avid homemaker, who loved arts and crafts, cooking and working in her flower beds. She was always busy doing something, usually for someone else. There was nothing she could not do with her hands from sewing, quilting, painting, and ceramics. She had a green thumb, and she could make a stick grow. She loved to go shopping to find a good bargain. She loved to travel and see the world. Most of all she loved her family and friends deeply and loved to be surrounded by them, usually eating. She loved the Lord, her church and church family. She was a very active member of Russell Baptist Church. Her home was open and welcoming to anyone at any time. Our legacy in life is not what we have or what we have gained, but what we leave behind. Fayes is a legacy of love, joy and living life to the fullest. If wealth is measured by the number of friends you have, she was wealthy beyond measure. God calls us as his children to be an example on this earth, and Faye was. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends; our loss is truly heavens gain.
She is survived by her husband, James F. Jones of Meridian; Daughter, Jeanette Swain (Bill) of Meridian; Son, James A. Sonny Johnson (Nancy) Birmingham, AL; Daughter, Ann Gates (Gerald) of Carrollton, AL; Daughter, Nan Elliott of Reform, AL; Son, James H.Bubba Jones (Donna) of Laurel, MS; Son, Bobby Jones of Meridian; Daughter, Diane Cowart (Billy) of McShan, AL.
