Ira's Story

Ira Lamar Moore, 90, of Enterprise, passed away on December 2, 2017 at Anderson's Hospital.

He was born on June 22, 1927 to Ira and Addie (Nicewonger) Moore in Clarke County, MS.

Lamar was a member of Masonic Lodge in Enterprise for 65 years. He was the oldest member of Enterprise Methodist Church. He served during WWII in U.S. Army and Merchant Marines. He was a devoted community leader that always put God and family first. A special thanks to Jackie Gates for her care and love showed in Lamar's later years.

Lamar is survived by his son, Rodney (Yvonne) Moore; daughters, Lynne (Gerald) Jones and Beth Ronshausen; sister, Juanita Dority; grandchildren, Ashley (Daniel) Perkins, Matt (Callie) Moore, Megan (Randy) Ritzel, and Brandon (Heidi) Ronhausen and 6 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Moore; parents, Ira B. and Addie Moore and sister, Frances Hutchinson.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2017, after 6:00 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.?
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, 11:00 am at the Enterprise Baptist Church with Rev. John Wesley Leaks, Rev. Macon Phillips, and Rev. Bill Hayes officiating. The body will be taken to the church at 10:00 a.m. for visitation.

Burial will take place in the Enterprise Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jim Stockman, John Brown, Steve Helms, Keith Buckley, Larry Owen, Larry Murray, Larry Altman, Willie Roberson, David Kowall, and John Simon.
