James "Jim"'s Story
Funeral Services for Mr. James Jim Williams will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Dr. Scott Crenshaw and Rev. Paul Trosper officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 at the MS Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Williams, 69, of Stonewall, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Jim worked over 30 years with Roadway Express where he retired as a supervisor. He was respected by all of his co-workers and was considered a dear friend by many. He enjoyed spending time whenever he could with family and friends and loved to watch NASCAR. His most treasured title was that of Grand-daddy which was given by his granddaughter Zoey Claire.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Carol Williams, and daughter Christy Fowler and her husband Walt; son, Jerry Williams, and his grand-daughter Zoey Claire. Mother, Lucille Colvin-Elliot; brothers Randy Colvin and his wife Patty, Junior Colvin and his wife Pat, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Roy Colvin; son, Chris Williams and daughter Carrie Williams.
The family requests memorials be made to the Cancer Patient Benevolent Fund, first floor at 1704 23rd Ave. Meridian, MS 39301 in lieu of flowers.
Honorary pallbearers will be any Roadway Express Employees who wish to serve.
