Jean James Dean Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Dean will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, with Bro. Tommy Anderson officiating. Burial will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Dean, 75, of Little Rock passed away March 14, 2019, at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Dean was a faithful and dedicated Christian, who served the Lord in various ways. She attended both Hopewell Baptist Church of Little Rock, Miss., and Union Valley Baptist Church of Sevierville, Tenn. In Mrs. Dean's words, "The life that leaves a legacy is marked by one's trust in God. Tell everyone to smile; it's a great Homecoming for me."
Survivors include her husband of fifty-six years, Horace A. "Pee-Wee" Dean; children, Jeannie Anne Steele (Jerry), Shonda Dean-James (Clayt), and Kerri Gallaspy (Matt); grandchildren, Lorna Blackburn, Paige Graham, Grant Gallaspy, Gaige Gallaspy, and Gavin Gallaspy; great-grandchildren, Ava, Anniston, and Maxxis Graham; siblings, Wayne James, Kay Beeman, and Debbie Dearman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one child, Lorna Lynn Dean.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and The Wounded Warrior Project.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Steele, Clayt James, Matt Gallaspy, Grant Gallaspy, Gaige Gallaspy, and Karl Motley. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Motley, Neil Motley, T.C. Glover, Zach Steele, and Cody Steele.
