He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mabel Pigford and his best friend of a lifetime Wade Taylor.
He is survived by his daughters, Ashley Harrington (Doug) and Lauren Lagrone (Daniel); grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Jacob, Addison and Peyton; brother, Steve Pigford (Dana) and sister Carol Stanley (Bill); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations are made to Russell Christian Academy Building Fund in Jerry's name. If mailing: RCA-Building Fund, 1844 Highway 11/80, Meridian, MS 39301.
Jerry was the owner of Kewanee 1 Stop. This family business was begun July 7, 1990, and is still in operation today. His dream was to create a place that would be run one day by his family. Both of his daughters grew up in the store and now his grandchildren come there. This is a place that when family comes in from out of town, they all want to go there to eat and tell family stories.
This small business is known by truck drivers all across America. It is the kind of place where you walk in and everyone there knows not only your name but what you want to eat. Jerry loved nothing more than sitting at table 1, drinking coffee and talking with everyone.
He loved to hunt, play golf and travel. He will be missed by us all.
A memorial service will be held Jan. 20, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Toomsuba Baptist Church, 3969 Hwy. 11/80; Toomsuba.

I was so sorry to hear about Jerry. He was one of “my children” when he played tennis for me at Meridian High.

My dear sweet cousin. I have such sweet, fun, fond memories of you as we grew up in the BEST family ever. As sad as it is for us, I know there was a joyful reunion in Heaven this week. You will be missed! I love you! Annieboo
