Memorial services for Joan Punch Watson will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Jim Wall officiating.
Mrs. Watson, age 86, of Meridian, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at Rush Foundation Hospital.
She was married for 54 years to Simon until his death in 2003. They had known each other since they were babies. She was a housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; helping to raise many of them, carpooling kids for many years. She loved animals and especially dogs. She also loved to cook and was happiest when feeding her family, we all loved her spaghetti. She had many lifelong friends and loved them dearly.
She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and was a member of the Williams Sunday School Class for many years.
Survivors include her daughters, Pam Harrelson of Ponchatula, LA, Trudy Denton of Brandon, MS, Tracy Asmussen (Peter) of Germany; son, Kelly Watson (Paige) of Meridian; grandchildren, Jeff Denton (Niki), Tiffany Kilbourn (Brad), Josh Harrelson (Jennifer), Jennifer Hankins (Jamie), Phillip Asmussen, Jan Asmussen, Hedda Asmussen, and Klein Watson; great grandchildren, Sophie Denton, Gracie Denton, Aidan Harrelson, Dominic Harrelson, Lexi Harrelson, Ryan Harrelson, Cole Harrelson, Ethan Hankins, and Annabelle Hankins.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Simon Watson; sister, Judy Long; and parents, Maurice and Doc Taylor.
