Funeral services for Mr. Jodie Kennedy will begin at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Northcrest Baptist Church with Bro. Grady Crowell, Bro. Dennis Coats, Bro. Carlton Lafferty, Bro. Murphy Thompson and Bro. Glenn Lafferty officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jodie Kennedy, 38, of Meridian, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Jodie was known as a selfless man who loved serving others. He was employed with Meridian Fire Department for five years and was serving his second year as a softball coach at West Lauderdale High School, where he strived to be known as, Little Jerry Boatner. He loved working on the softball field and fought to get the girls their facilities. Being at the fire department made him the happiest man in the world; he loved spending time with all of his brothers. He played baseball through college as well as minor league baseball with the Red Sox. He will be remembered as a man who loved his entire family especially his hot and feisty wife and his two boys and little girl were his whole world.

Mr. Kennedy is survived by his wife of 7 years, Jessie Kennedy, his two boys Easton Thomas Kennedy, James Kruze Kennedy and his daughter Addyson Isabella Kennedy. His parents, James Kennedy and Shirley Kennedy; brothers, Jamie Kennedy, Kenny Kennedy (Jennifer), and Ryan Kennedy (Mitzi). Father and Mother In-Law, Tom and Bonnie Hinrichsen and his maternal grandmother Birdie Davidson

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Horace and Margaret Kennedy and maternal grandfather, Cecil Davidson.

Pallbearers will be the Meridian Fire Department Honor Guard and honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Kennedy, Jamie Kennedy, Kenny Kennedy, Josh Todd, Charlie Watson, Matt McCann, Karl Hinrichsen, Shane Diamond, and the West Lauderdale Lady Knights Softball Team.

The family request donations be made to West Lauderdale Lady Knights Homerun Club c/o The Citizens
Bank of Collinsville or to the Meridian First Responders Benevolence Fund c/o Citizens National Bank.
