Lucianne Alice Cecile Marie Bernadette Berthiaume McHaney was born December 2, 1925 to Arthur Berthiaume and Etta Fordham of Montreal, Canada. She had seven half brothers and sisters, one full brother and one full sister , who are all deceased. She was (as she put it) "the oldest one living in her family". She moved to the United States when she was around 10 years old. They ( her mother, sister, and brother) lived in Philadelphia with her half sister, Olive until she meet her husband Joe McHaney. They were married in July 1945. They had three children Alex, Priscilla and John Arthur. After the loss of her husband and oldest son in a boating accident on the Tombigbee River in the flood of 1962, she and her two children moved to Livingston and she eventually ended up in Meridian, Ms. Over the years she worked several jobs to support herself and her children. She ended up in the cleaning business which proved to be very successful. The name of the business is Mighty Tidy Janitorial Service. She started the business in her early 50s and ended her career at age 90.
She loved God and her family more than anything. She also loved being a help to her friends and neighbors.
She leaves behind her two four legged companions; two rescue dogs; Whitey and Boy Dog.
She is survived by her daughter Priscilla McElroy, son John Arthur McHaney, her grandchildren; Monica McElroy Byars, Alex McElroy, Autumn McHaney Bodie and Jade McHaney Pippin and her great grandchildren; Landon, Payton and Brayden McElroy and Violet Bodie.
Graveside services for Lucy B. McHaney,92, of Cuba, will be held Saturday, Dec. 30 beginning at 1:30 pm at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Demopolis, Al. There will be no visitation.
Mrs. McHaney Passed away Thursday Dec. 28 at her residence in Cuba.
Pallbearers will be Alex McElroy, Landon McElroy, Brayden McElroy, Craig Jackson, William McElroy, and Danny McElroy.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Steven Bodie and Loren Pippin.
