A memorial service in honor of Milton Lavell Woodall, Sr. will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 3905 8th St. in Meridian on Dec. 2, 2017, at 1 p.m.
Mr. Woodall passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, at Specialty Hospital of Meridian. He was born Dec. 21, 1942, to Robert Milton and Helen (McQuirter) Woodall.
Lavell grew up in Stonewall and remained there, working as a weaver for Burlington Industries. Many people living in or around Stonewall knew a lot of their jeans were made from the denim manufactured in the small town at Burlington. When Burlington closed, Lavell worked as a night watchman until he reached retirement age. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing and had plenty of stories to tell about his adventures.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia Kay (Lee) Harvey, Janet Headrick, Milton Lavell (Stephanie) Woodall Jr.; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandson; siblings, Audrey Barnes, Paul (Lois) Woodall, Joyce (John) James.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Allgood Woodall; granddaughter, Miranda Kay Harvey; brother, Jace Royce Woodall, and his parents.
