Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Bryan will be held Saturday, August 12 at 11a.m. at Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church, with Dr. Chuck Meador officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Garden with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Bryan, age 81, of Meridian passed away, Tuesday, August 8 at her residence.
She was a member of Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church, where she had fellowship with her friends in St. Andrews Sunday-School class, and she was a member of the Athena Club. Mrs. Bryan earned her associates degree from Meridian Community College. After receiving her degree, she worked for Meridian Community College as the Supervisor of Records for thirty-seven years. Because of her tenure at MCC, she was became a member of the Talon Club. She was a member of the MCC Retirees, a Lifetime Quest Member, she earned the John Johnson Outstanding MCC Staff Member Award, she was a MCCer, and she was honored with a brick in the MCC Phi Theta Kappa Courtyard of Scholars.
Mrs. Bryan was an active member of the Meridian Little Theater, where she once served on the board. She was also a loyal Guild Member.
Survivors include her sons, William (Billy) Bryan and Felix Bryan; grandchildren, Amy Hawes, Nathan Bryan, Alexis Bryan, Anna Tucker, David Larson, and Victoria Bryan; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. (Gene) Bryan; her sister, Virginia Lee; her brothers, Eugene, David, and Elijah Holdiness.
