Text size

Pamela's life began and ended in her hometown of Meridian, MS.

Pamela was preceded in death by her Mother, Vera Ethel Fuller Jay, her Father, Grady Cleveland Jay, Sr. and her brother, Grady Cleveland Jay, Jr.

Pamela is survived by one son, Jonathan Paul Davis, two sisters, Eloise Jay Butler (Tommy Joe Butler) and Peggy Jay LeFevre (Meurice E. LeFevre), nephews, Rickey Morris Butler, Charles Darrell Butler, Brian Cleveland Jay, and Christopher Jay Williams, and niece, Candace Nennette Jay.

Pamela was an avid gardener, needlepoint artist, devoted mother, she loved all things crafted by hand, superb cook, antique collector, and a colorful, adoring friend to all who knew her. Pamela graduated from Meridian High School and attended Meridian Community College. Pamela enjoyed a brief career with Bang Records/Web IV Music in Atlanta, GA where her husband, Paul Lavon Davis was writing and recording his songs. When their only son, Jonathan was born, Pamela left her job in the music world to dedicate the following 38 years to his care, spending every moment of every day seeing to his special needs. Pamela will be dearly missed by her family and friends but we all have comfort knowing she is dancing in the clouds and totally pain free.

Visitation for Pamela will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with a graveside at 12:30 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend Tom Sikes officiating. Please join us in saying goodbye to Pamela and encouraging Jonathan to embrace the next adventure of his life as he returns to Atlanta, GA to be cared for by family and friends who adore him.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Williams, David Kimbrell, Darrell Butler, Samuel Butler, Johnny Johnson, and Nathan Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Art Matthews, Debbie Matthews, Donna Bea Glascock, Mina Beth Tonini, Meurice LeFevre, and Tommy Joe Butler.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to MIDD (Mississippi Industries for Individuals with Disabilities), 1405 College Drive, Meridian, MS 39307.

Pamela's family wishes to give a special thank you to Sheila Irby of Harper's Hospice, Mary Brooks, her primary care giver and her team, consisting of Ruby Thomas, Tawanza Toole, and Kim Roberts. Thank you to Sandy Gray for being there every day when we couldn't, and to Johnny Johnson for making Pamela smile and holding her hand while she grew weaker with each day. All of you are Angels on Earth.
