Funeral Mass for Mr. Paul A. Blier will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2601 Davis St., Meridian, MS. Interment will follow at a later date at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Blier, 78, of Meridian, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Paul served five years on the U.S.S. Cavalier stationed in San Diego, CA. He was employed at AT&T in Maine and retired as a supervisor in Connecticut after 33 years. After retiring at 55 he started a second career as a Contractor building and remodeling homes. He loved woodworking and gardening. He also enjoyed raising chickens and started a tool sharpening business, as a hobby, which is still in operation today. Paul was a very faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church of Meridian and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Blier is survived by his wife of 54 years Suzanne Blier, son, Steven Blier and wife Melissa and granddaughter, Sarah of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, George Beaulieu and wife Louise of Brunswick, ME; sister-in-law Denise, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his son, Rodney Blier, his parents, as well as his brother and sister.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Patrick School, 2601 Davis St. Meridian, MS 39301.
