Funeral services for Roy E. Stevens will begin Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Brother Richie Davis officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Stevens, age 80, of Quitman, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Mr. Roy loved fishing and tending to his garden. He loved sharing the produce from his garden with family and friends. He was known as The Peanut Man as he worked with the food vending business nearly 20 years.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Pam Stevens; children, Jenny Stevens Thomas (Rod), Vicki Stevens Butler (Greg), Roy Stevens, Jr. (Brenda), and Cheryl Brown Moore; nine grand-children and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Byrdette Stevens; sister, Mirea Stevens Caraway; sister-in-law, Judy Eccles (Dave);brother-in-law, Max Hodge (Carol); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Stevens; step-son, Greg Brown; his parents and sisters, Ruby Stevens, Mae Boyette, as well as sister-in-law, Sandra Jones; brother, Maurece Stevens.
The family request memorials be made to American Cancer Society or the American Kidney Foundation.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
