Sue's Story

Mrs. Sue Brown Thompson was born October 28, 1928 in Lauderdale County and retained a residency for the duration of her life. She was the youngest daughter of 12 children. Her parents were John Will Brown and Ida Null Brown. After graduation from Suquelena High School, she began her professional career in the Lauderdale County Circuit Clerks office. In 1977 she was appointed District Clerk of the US Federal Courts in Meridian, where she served for 13 years before retiring.
Mother of three children, she is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Thompson (Meridian) and Deborah Thompson (St. Augustine, FL); son-in-law, Dudley Baringer, M.D. (St. Augustine, FL); and grandchildren, Zachariah Baringer (Florida), Aslyn Baringer (Florida), and Connor Covert (California).
She was preceded in death by a son, William "Bill" Carlton Thompson, Jr.
