Susan Anne Wright

Services for Mrs. Susan Anne Wright will be held Saturday, April 27, at 10 a.m., at James F. Webb Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Belcher officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Wright, 58, of Meridian, passed away Wednesday at UAB Hospital of Birmingham.
Susan worked for, and retired from, the Meridian Police Department as an administrative secretary and Evacuation Services Coordinator for 27 years. She was also a member of The Meridian Police Benevolent Association and Calvary Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended and taught Sunday School for a time. She was depended on by the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks to be fed daily in the backyard. She was known to be an outstanding cook, making terrific food to be enjoyed by her husband, friends, and church family. Susan could make an out of this world red velvet cake, that won over people who didn't even like the dessert. She was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Saints, "Who Dat!", and was also a fierce Ole Miss fan. She was a sweet, loving wife who also adored her dogs throughout her life. She and her loving husband Dan loved visiting the Gulf Coast, where they spent their honeymoon, June 30, 1984. She will be greatly missed by everyone that she came in contact with.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel "Dan" Wright Jr.; and cousins, Denise Johnson and Howard Stinson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Carson Covert III and Jean Stinson Covert.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 26, 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday, all at the funeral home.

Dan, I am so sorry for your loss. Yesterday morning Katrina told me about Susan being sick. My heart breaks with you just remembering her time with the police department and the time we worked together. May God give you peace and comfort during this time. Just rest in the knowledge that Susan doesn't hurt anymore and she is healed completely! God Bless you!
