Graveside services for Virginia Bounds will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Dr. Carl White officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Bounds, age 92, of Meridian, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Virginias biggest interest was Highland Baptist Church. She loved to sing in the choir and worked closely with Franklin Denham in the Music Ministry at Highland Baptist Church. She was one of the original members of the singing Christmas Tree and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She graduated from Meridian Public Schools and attended the 13th and 14th grade at the former Meridian Junior College. Immediately after graduation she worked for the Chancery Clerk serving as the Deputy Chancery Clerk, where she met her husband, W.E. Bounds. She later worked for the Meridian Stockyards.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Libby Bounds; siblings: Joyce Hall Beasley, Glynn Hall Fort, and Nelson Hall and his wife, Linda; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.E. Bounds and son, Ross Bounds.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Tamaika Landrum, her beloved caregiver, for the faithful and dedicated care given to Mrs. Bounds.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Highland Baptist Church Music Ministry.
