Funeral services for Mr. Bill Griffin will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017 beginning at 11:00 am at Blackwater Baptist Church with Rev. Heath Riggs and Rev. Gary Rivers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
William F. Bill Griffin, 61, of the Blackwater Community, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his residence.
Bill was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman who especially loved squirrel hunting with his dog Sweetie Pie. He was an active member, Sunday school teacher and deacon, since the age of 23, at Blackwater Baptist Church. He worked for Structural Steel Services for 30 plus years where he was employed as a paint and welding supervisor. He loved being dad to Matt and Tyler as well as spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Melanie Griffin, his son Tyler Griffin and his wife Kate; and his mother-in-law Shelba Myers. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son, Matt Griffin; brother, James Jimbo Griffin and his parents James D. and Freda Griffin.
Pallbearers will be Al Turnipseed, Billy Holloway, Jeff Peden, Chuck Sanders, Roger Cheatham, Wayne Bassett, and Jimmy Bassett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mickey Sanders, David Sorrels, Billy Cade, Jerry Vaughn, Douglas Parker and Bub Mosby.
The family requests donations be made to the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund at Anderson Regional Cancer Center in lieu of flowers.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home and on Thursday, November 2 beginning at 10:00 am until service time at Blackwater Baptist Church.
