Funeral services for Bill Jones will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jeff Jones and Dr. Jeff Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Jones, age 81, of Meridian, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his home.
He was born on November 2, 1935 to Clyde and Mary Virginia Jones in Meridian. He enjoyed spending time with family and had a passion for training and riding horses.
Bill was one of the founders of the local Parkinsons Fellowship. He retired from Riley Hospital in 1998 after 23 years of service.
He was a lifelong active member of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher for many years, and served in many other capacities at the church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Audrey Jones; son, Davy Jones and wife, Susan; daughter, Lori Roberts; brother, Dan Jones and wife, Susan; sister, Betty Hall and husband, Don; grandchildren, Jeff Jones and wife, Megan, Julie Roberts and husband, Russell, Wyatt Roberts and fiancé, Jordan Lovorn, and Payson Roberts; great grandchild, Jenny Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mary Virginia Jones and infant daughter, Patty Jones.
Pallbearers are Davy Jones, Jeff Jones, Russell Roberts, Wyatt Roberts, Payson Roberts, and Phillip Price.
Honorary pallbearers are the Emmaus Sunday School Class and special friends, Hookey Massey and Jimmy Shannon.
Memorials may be made to the Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
