Wilma "Helen" Shannon

December 29, 1935 - December 01, 2018

Wilma Helen Shannon Funeral services for Ms. Wilma "Helen" Shannon will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Dr. Marcus Finch and the Rev. Gilbert Eaves will be officiating the service. Burial will be held at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church cemetery in Toomsuba. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Ms. Shannon, 82, of Meridian left this earthly home to be with her Lord in Heaven on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at Diversicare of Meridian.
She worked at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center, but she loved her volunteer work at Anderson Hospital's Cancer Center. She felt that she received a gift from those that she had the honor of helping. Before her health failed, she also enjoyed cooking for her church and her community. She loved teaching her Sunday School class and singing with the Singing Saints.
Mrs. Shannon was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy; brothers, Edward White, Johnny White, James White, Andy White; and one sister, Dot LaBlanc.
She is survived by one sister, Katherine Daniels of Bailey; one brother, Benny White of Stonewall; her niece Barbara Stinson of Bailey, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews; her many friends and her church families.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to Anderson Regional Medical Center's Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund.
Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, from 5-7 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.

Though it hurts to be without you here I know you are no longer in pain. You are also with you beloved son Jimmy and the Lord. I will miss you so much Aunt Helen.

My condolences to the family. Ms. Helen was such a sweet lady. I came to meet her long ago and she never missed a moment to stop and speak. She will be truly missed.
