Alvice E. Garrett, 79, passed away March 24, 2017. He was born March 20, 1938 and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years. His career included duty assignments around the world ending at Norton Air Force Base, California. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal while assigned in the Republic of Vietnam as well as Meritorious Service Medals for service at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida working on the Project Mercury program. He continued his federal career as a civilian employee at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Fredonia Garrett; stepson, Todd Woessner; and an infant sister.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; his sons, Chip (Debbie), Micheal (Sharon), and Scott (Rene); stepson, Mark (Cate); grandchildren, Michelle, Kristen, Ashlee, Abreanne; stepgranddaughter, Keri (Joe); two great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Billy); and brothers, Ray (Sharlene), Leon (Beverly) and L.A. (Jean).
Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C.
