Dr. Bernice White

Graveside services for Dr. Bernice White will be held Thursday at 10 am at Prospect Methodist Church cemetery. Rev. Seaphus Garrett will be officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. White, 99, of Meridian, passed away Monday. She was a retired educator having taught at the public school level as well as Mississippi State University - Meridian Campus, University of Southern Mississippi, Livingston University, Trevecca Nazarene University and Meridian Community College. Her major was in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Child Psychology. Dr. White was also a published author as well as a talented musician playing the harp, accordion and piano. Her greatest accomplishment was accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at the early age of thirteen and serving her Lord her entire life.
She is survived by her children Ann Booth and Jane Larson (Bill); grandchildren Don Larson, Russ Larson, Brenda Kapchinski, Ricky Booth, Weldon Lumpkins, Ricky Smalley, Terry Smalley, Teresa Lumpkins and children Mitch and Shayla; great-grandchildren Elizabeth Larson, Christina Moran, Joey Larson, Matthew Larson and Wendi Kapchinski.
She is preceded in death by her parents Rufus and Flora Bradley, husband Joe F. White and daughter Lynn Smalley.
