Services for Billy E. "Billy B." Burwell will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Historic First Union Missionary Baptist Church with Apostle Dr. Debra Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Mr. Burwell, 78, of Meridian passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 30 years, Linda Wilson Burwell; a daughter, Galina (Jonathon) Pegues; two sons, Jalen Burwell and Joel Kirksey, and four brothers: Charles (Francis), Donnie (Valeria), David (Verna), and Anthony (Michelle). He was preceded in death by his parents, Miller and Eula Burwell; two sisters, Bettye Burwell and Bobbye Riley, and three brothers, Carl, Terry, and Larry Burwell. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. John Holbrook, the staff of Meridian Oncology, and Anderson Cancer Center and Anderson Regional Medical Center for the care of their loved one during his time of illness. Visitation will be today, Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Berry and Gardner Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the church.
