Lawrence, MS - Services celebrating the life of Billy Joe Craven will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Newton Methodist Church with Rev. John Cash officiating. Private interment will follow in the Newton Masonic Cemetery in the Craven family plot under the direction of Newton County Funeral Home.
There will be no visitation and no public graveside service.
Billy Joe Craven was born Tuesday, September 26, 1961 in Meridian. He was a graduate of Meridian High School, and was a business owner. He was a Christian by faith, affiliated with the Methodist denomination. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and a vintage collector. He passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at his residence at the age of 63.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harley Craven; his brother, Charles Walter Craven; one infant sister, June Marie; his paternal grandparents, Charles M. and Liller Humphrey Craven, and his maternal grandparents, Walter M. and Josie Betsill Fore.
Survivors include his mother, Billie Marie Fore Craven; one niece, Elizabeth Mardensen, and two nephews, Will Craven and Wyatt Craven and several cousins.
