ORANGE BEACH, Ala. [ndash] Carrie Scales Evans died peacefully on her birthday in her home in Orange Beach, Ala., on Saturday, May 6, 2023. A family graveside service was held on May 13, 2023, at Shuqualak Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her three children: Isham Harrison Evans IV and wife, Betty Smith Evans of Oxford, Miss., Jane Evans Atkins of Orange Beach, Ala., and Semmes Evans Zazzara of Arlington, Va.; and her grandchildren: Elisha Franklin Evans of Oxford, Miss., Lawrence King Holcomb and fiancée Molly Proffer of St. Louis, Mo., Carrie Horn Atkins of Orange Beach, Ala., William Augustus Kost and wife Lucy Coleman Kost of Richmond, Va. and Patrick Benedict Zazzara III of Arlington, Va.
