Funeral services for Clarky "Jane" Griffin will be Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, at 1 p.m., at Barham Funeral Home-Forest Lawn Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Bro. Jack Kern officiating.
Mrs. Griffin, 88, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at Bedford Care Center in Marion.
Jane was born and raised in Kemper County. She moved to Meridian for a job and met Wilmer Griffin. They married and raised five children. They loved camping and were very proud of the fact they had taken many camping vacations with their children to see over 25 states. As the children grew older, she went to work for Peavey's Electronics. She loved her job and the many people that she worked with. After having grandchildren, she loved to cook for them and attend all of their activities and sports events. She was a proud cancer survivor, having been cancer free for over 15 years. After she retired, she enjoyed sitting on her back porch sharing stories with her husband, family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Johnston (Butch) and Lisa Kistler (Kent); her two sons, Donnie Griffin (Jimmy) and Dennis Griffin; her grandchildren Christy Holyfield (Lance), Chad Woodall, and Clark Kistler; along with other step grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Maggie Floore; her husband Wilmer Eugene Griffin; a son David Griffin; two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, and one hour prior to services on Friday, at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staffs of both Bedford Care Center and Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care they showed Mrs. Jane. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to a local cancer organization or to a charity of your choice.
