Crawfordville, FL - David W. Rasberry, 78, of Crawfordville, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, after a valiant battle and perseverance through several chronic medical conditions over many years.

Born in Lauderdale County MS on November 26, 1946, to Mason and Warrene (Linton) Rasberry. David was the youngest of four siblings and enjoyed his role as the "baby" of the family. He spent his adolescence and most of his adult life in the Whynot community, relocating to Florida in 2021 to be closer to his daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

David traveled the United States as a long-haul trucker working for Gordon Transportation, Riverside/Big Bee Trucking, and eventually retiring from Roadway Trucking. He was affectionately known by many as "Daddy Long Legs", which was his CB handle. He captivated many with his tales of treacherous travel in his big rig through snow, ice, and mountains.

David was a gentle soul, who rarely raised his voice and truly didn't have a mean bone in his body. A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be missed by all.

David is survived by daughters Cyndi Dotson (Steve) of Crawfordville, FL, and Dorothy "Lorrie" Padron (Fred) of Lewisville, TX; 5 grandchildren Shaina Dotson Johns (David), Mason Dotson (Sarah), Jonathan Padron, David Padron, and John Padron; 9 great grandchildren Brayden Johns, David and Kaitlynn Dotson, Alicia, Adyson, Aubree, Jaxen, Alaysia and Creed Padron; sister Tommie Dickens (Dickie); and several beloved nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by wives Martha Wilkerson Rasberry and Patricia Hoffer Rasberry: grandson, Jeremy Steven Dotson; brothers Robert "Buddy" Rasberry and Jerry Rasberry; and his parents Mason and Warrene Rasberry.

Services will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Hebron Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am, with memorial service in the church sanctuary at 11:00 am, followed by brief graveside service for interment.
