Dorothy Ratcliffe Lightsey, 92, of Pachuta, Miss., passed away peacefully on Jan. 23, 2023, at her home.

She was born on July 13, 1930, to Andrew Franklin and Elzie (McClellan) Ratcliffe in Heidelberg, Miss.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Deborah L. (Richard) Thomson of Hattiesburg; sons, Andrew Franklin (Debra) Lightsey of Heidelberg and Winfred A. (Leahnne) Lightsey Jr of Petal; along with a legacy of loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was very active in her church and community. After serving as Postmaster for over 20 years, Dorothy was acquainted with everyone in her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Franklin and Elzie (McClellan) Ratcliffe; husband, Winfred A. Lightsey Sr.; sister, Lanier; brother, Johnny; son, Charles Eric Lightsey; and grandson, Quin Thomson.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.

Memorials in Dorothy's honor are suggested to be made to the Pachuta Cemetery.
