Gloria Delores Williams
Gloria Delores Williams, 75, of Hickory, Miss., passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at her home surrounded by family. She was born Sunday, Dec. 12, 1943, in Gulfport, Miss.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019, from noon until 2 p.m., at the Newton County Funeral Home-South in Newton, Miss., with funeral services immediately following. Burial will take place at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery on Hickory Fellowship Road. Bro. Wayne Campbell will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (601) 635-3200.
Gloria was a 1961 graduate of Newton High School and then attended East Central Junior College. She worked in the healthcare field for 40 years. She was a dearly loved member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Gloria was known in her community as a kind, compassionate friend to all. She was cherished by her family and will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow Burt and Aline Plilar; and her nephew Landon Burt.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years Daniel Williams; siblings: Woodie Burt (Katherine), Frank Burt (Sharon), Bryan Burt (Mary); brother-in-law, Joe Williams (Tommie), sister-in-law Faye Anderson (Michael); uncle, Royce Welch (Linda); numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Wanda Cooper, Wanda Dearing, Charlotte Stamper, and Dr. Cherry Clark.
Pallbearers will be Roy Burns, Tommy Bishop, Stan Williams, James Thorne, Randy Williams, and Jackie Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeffrey Jones, Langdon Barber, J.R. Addy, Kenny Addy, and Terry Loper.
