Lt. Col. Hardy Roberts Stennis, USMC, Retired, 86, died Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Mississippi Veteran Home in Kosciusko, Miss. A graveside with full military honors will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Oddfellows Cemetery in the family plot with Dr. Andy Pearson and Mrs. Sally Pearson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 162, Macon, MS 39341. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Col. Stennis is survived by his wife, Martha Evans Stennis, Marion, Miss.; a stepson, Ethan Bond, Meridian, Miss., a stepdaughter, Amanda Bond Stokes, Thibodaux, La.; a sister, Mary Loudoun Stennis Terry, Birmingham, Ala.; six step-grandchildren; brother-in-law, J. Bryon Evans, Quitman, Miss., numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
