Hazel  Scitzs
Services for Hazel Jewel Scitzs will be held Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at 1 p.m., from Smith's Chapel Community Church in Neshoba County with Bros. Scott Engle, Glenn Scott and Sheldon Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Hester Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, from 5-8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home and from noon Friday until time of service at the church. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Scitzs, 62, of Neshoba County, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
A native of Kemper County and former resident of Lauderdale County, she resided in Neshoba County for the past 10 years. She had formerly worked as a seamstress at Wells-Lamont, Nemanco, Garan, the electric blanket factory in DeKalb, Neshoba Chair Factory, Meridian Manufacturing, and La-Z-Boy. She worked as a sitter later in her life. Ms. Scitzs attended Smith's Chapel Community Church.
Survivors include three sons, Dewayne (Polly) Scitzs of Collinsville, Michael (Beth) Scitzs of Collinsville, David (Janet) Scitzs of Quitman; grandchildren, James, Brooks, Ivah Leigh, Russ, and Haley; sisters, Regeina Gilmer, Rebecca Warren and Adeline (Sheldon) Fox, all of Philadelphia; and Dorothy George of Collinsville; two brothers, David and Dale Warren of Union; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
Ms. Scitzs was preceded in death by sister, Roberta Chesney; and brother, Ronald L. Warren.
