A memorial service for Mrs. Ima Jewel Alexander will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Paul Raley officiating.
Mrs. Alexander, 80, of Meridian, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016, in Quitman. Ima Jewel was born in Philadelphia to Avis Bryant on March 20, 1936. She was married to James Alexander, and she was a factory worker for Avery Dennison.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Shirey; son, Robbie Alexander and his wife, Mary Ann; eight grandchildren: Cameron Shirey, Angela Reed, Chairmaine Cook, Mandy Rutledge, Tiffany Malley, Rebecca Stokley, Christopher Troxell and Cassidy West; 13 great-grandchildren: Dylan, Kayla, December, Christopher, Logan, Zachary, Jacob, Tia, Joseph, Tyler, Raven, Chase and Lexi; and one great-great-granddaughter, Skyler.
Ima Jewel was preceded in death by her mother, Avis Bryant; husband, James Alexander; daughter, Kimberly Alexander; brother, Toby Bryant; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Shirey.
