Irene Clark Thompson

Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Clark Thompson will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at 10 a.m. at High Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Cook officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home of Union is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Thompson, 80, of Union passed away at her residence on Thursday evening. Throughout her life, she was a poultry farmer. Her favorite hobbies included caring for her flowers and working in her yard. She will always be remembered for her love of baking, especially cakes for her family as well as fishing, quilting, and sewing. Though she enjoyed all of these things, her primary enjoyment was her family.

She is survived by her son Jammy Thompson (Mary Jane) of Union; granddaughter Brandon Rushing (Nathan) of Long Beach, grandson Slade Thompson of Union and great-granddaughter Maggie Townsend. Mrs. Thompson is also survived by her siblings L.C. Clark, Bernice Hoyt, Dodie Davidson, Randall Clark and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Estell and Lurena Clark; husband Jimmy Albert Thompson; siblings Oliver, Issac and Ernest Clark along with a grandson, Justin Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Richard Boykin, James Boykin, Joey Pickle, Ernie Shaw, Jonathan Davidson, and Seth Thompson. Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Paul Davidson.

Visitation was held Friday evening at the funeral home.
