Funeral services for James Ray Sciple will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at noon from Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doug Stokes officiating. Burial services will immediately follow from a private family cemetery near Wahalak. Cockrell Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Sciple, 62, a life-long resident of Kemper County, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at his residence in Wahalak.
He was born Sept. 9, 1956, in Kemper County, Miss. to Eliza Jane Stokes Sciple and the late James Lloyd Sciple. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator, working on various jobs in many states throughout the U.S. He had retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers after over 20 years of service. He was a proud father and grandfather and loved his family dearly. He was a known jokester and could laugh about anything. He enjoyed people and was especially fond of fishing. He attended Cross Mountain Ministries Church in Porterville.
He leaves behind his wife Debra Hailey Sciple; one son Justin Sciple and his wife Taylor; two grandchildren Casen and Chaney Sciple; his mother Eliza Jane Sciple; mother in law Jean Hailey; one brother Jackie W. Sciple, one sister Teresa Williams and host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law
Mabron Hailey.
Pallbearers will be Justin Sciple, Dow Hailey, Butch Hailey, Buddy Hailey, Gabe Sciple and Matt Hailey
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, from 5:30-8 p.m. at
Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon.
