Weatherford, Texas - Jimmy Floyd Hagwood, 81, went to his Heavenly home on August 15, 2025.


Born on November 29, 1943, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Clara Mae and Jamie Floyd Hagwood, Jimmy graduated from Vimville High School, and later attended Mississippi State University, East Mississippi Junior College, the University of Southern Mississippi, and East Texas State University.


In 1965, Jimmy joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for 20 years as a Contracting Officer, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1986. His assignments included bases in Mississippi, the Philippines, Wakkanai, Okinawa, Texas, Colorado, and the Azores, where he oversaw the construction of 150 new homes for the USAF. Following his military career, he spent another decade with the Defense Logistics Agency.


Jimmy was a man of honor and compassion, remembered for his love of hunting, fishing, and working in his shop.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda; parents, Jamie and Clara Mae; and his sisters, Dorothy Stewart and Ann Mattis.


He is survived by his sons: Jamie and wife, Sheri, children, Zachary and Lauren; John and wife, Christi, daughters, Tyler and Rylee; and son, Jonathan.
