QUITMAN - Joseph Anderson Kramer, 69, of Quitman, Miss. passed away on June 19, 2022, at his residence.

He was born on Sept. 22, 1952, to Ed and Maudine (Webb) Kramer in Quitman, Miss.

Joe was an award-winning newspaper photographer for The Times-Picayune, The Clarion Ledger, and The Meridian Star. He and his wife were the owners of Kramer Photography. Joe graduated from the Harrison County Law Enforcement Training Academy in 1993. He served Clarke County as Constable Place 2 for two terms and served the City of Quitman as a police officer and court clerk from 1992-2009. Joe served as Police Chief for the City of Quitman from 2009-2018.

Joe is survived by, his wife, Jane Cope Kramer; son, Edward Anderson (Lora) Kramer; daughter, Helen Virginia "Ginny" Kramer; three brothers, Edward N. (Lisa) Kramer III, John M. (Mary) Kramer, and Karl F. Kramer, and sister, Susan K. (John) Hoitt.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Kramer Jr., and mother, Maudine Webb Kramer Fettinger.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 9-10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Quitman, Miss.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Kramer, officiating.

Burial took place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
