Graveside Services for Kye Smith will be held at Hester cemetery with Hospice chaplain, Gary Morris officiating. Visitation will be at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home 7745 Highway 39 North 11:00 AM-12:00 PM Wednesday March 27, 2024 prior to the graveside service at Hester Cemetery. Mr. Smith of Collinsville, Mississippi went to Heaven on March 24, 2024 while at his home in Collinsville surrounded by his loving family.

Kye was born in Collinsville, Mississippi on February 16, 1943 to Weaver and Lunnie Smith. He was the youngest son of this large family, with seven boys and four girls. The names of his siblings are:

1. Hubert, 2. Dorothy (Lewis) 3. Lois (Clarence), 4. Sang (Dot), 5. Bud (Lois), 6. Hansel (Norma Ann), 7. Paul (Sue), 8. Truly -who was more commonly known as "Troop" (Pat), 9. Darlene (Wendell), 10. Faye (Jimmy).

Kye is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty Scott Smith, originally from Meridian, Mississippi, his sister, Faye Sistrunk of Collinsville, his children: Donald Smith (Rita) of Collinsville, Randy Smith of Morton, Scott McCully of Hattiesburg, and Janeen McCully Hagelston (Paul) of Hattiesburg, and his grandchildren: Dallas, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Cody, Storm, Carly Beth, and Joseph, as well as four great-grandchildren.

Kye is preceded in death by his parents, Weaver and Lunnie Smith, all six of his brothers and three of his sisters.

Most people knew Kye through his work and strong work ethic. Kye's long work history started when he was just a teenager. Of the many jobs Kye has held in his lifetime, he was a glassier for Binswanger and, most notably, was a truck driver for Dixie Oil, Delchamps, and Winn Dixie, prior to his disability.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Accent Care Hospice team for the excellent care they provided to Kye and Betty during Kye's illness.
