Lamar Williams Hardin Obituary

Lamar Williams Hardin, age 93, of Cuba, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret McGee Hardin, son Leon (Rheba) Hardin of Prattville, AL, son Don (Shirley) Hardin of Cuba, AL, and daughter Sara Hardin Walker of Epes, AL, grandson Kevin (Aubrey) McElroy, granddaughters Heather (Jason) Piant, Julie (Don) Peck, Holly (Jesse) Waldrip, and Martha (Bo) Gray, and thirteen great-grandchildren.


Mr. Hardin was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was employed for thirty-eight years with the Sumter County Engineer's Office. He also served as town clerk for Cuba, AL, for forty-three years until his retirement from that position at age 90. He was an active member of the Cuba Baptist Church for sixty-three years.


Services for Mr. Hardin will be held on Friday, June 23 at 3:30 PM at the Cuba Baptist Church, with the Reverend Mike McKee officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. A private family burial will be at Clay Memorial Cemetery in Cuba.


In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cuba Baptist Church or Gideons International.
