Larry B. Flood Obituary

Larry B. Flood, 91, passed away at his home in Meridian on Sunday, December 8, 2024, after an extended illness.

Mr. Flood, a native of Norman, Oklahoma, attended the University of Oklahoma, where he was in the Naval ROTC. After earning a degree in Mathematics, he became a Naval Aviator. Upon his discharge from the Navy in 1958, he moved with his late wife, Louise McGinnis Flood, to her hometown of Meridian, where he worked for 27 years at McGinnis Lumber Company before establishing his own computer business. He was a longtime member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

The son of the late Lloyd Bertrand Flood and Marguerite Geis Flood, he was predeceased by his wife, Louise McGinnis Flood. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Hudson Flood of Meridian; a daughter, Melissa Flood Neyland and her husband Nash of Jackson; a son Lloyd B. Flood and his wife Susan of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Parker Neyland (Elizabeth) of Denver, Colorado; Swayze Pentecost (Will) of Jackson, Mississippi; Andrew Neyland (Darby) of Nashville, Tennessee; Barron Flood (Drew) of Brooklyn, New York; and Benjamin Flood of Atlanta, Georgia; great grandchildren Harris Neyland, Ivy Neyland, Turner Pentecost, Ben Pentecost, and Elyse Neyland. His nieces and nephew Gina Long, Carol Alexander, and Jim McGinnis, also survive him. He enjoyed the friendship of his wife's children, Leigh Ann Kernop, Phil Ray, and Dan Ray.
