Ocean Springs, Mississippi - Lonnie Ray Cryer, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on July 28, 2026. He was born on September 28, 1952, in Meridian, Mississippi. He was the oldest son of Leavie and Annie Pearl (Baylor) Cryer.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Cryer of Ocean Springs; his children, Derek Woods (Meridian, MS), Carmen Cryer (Huntsville, AL), Victor (Tracey) Cryer and Brian Cryer (Ocean Springs, MS); grandchildren Ethan, Tatum, and Kasey. His siblings—Brothers: Owen (Betty) Cryer, Wayne (Monica) Cryer - Meridian, MS, Michael (JoEtta) Cryer - Olive Branch, MS, Alvin (Dalishia) Cryer - Memphis, TN, Gregory (Theresa) Cryer - Omaha, NE, Kerry (Katina) Cryer - Killeen, TX. Sisters: Marion Harris - Augusta, GA, Augustine Merrell, Barbara Brown, Terrey (Terrence) Roberts - Meridian, MS, Jewel Cryer - Olive Branch, MS, Debra (Norbert) Luster - Nashville, TN, Kimberly Cryer - Dallas, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leavie and Annie Pearl Baylor Cryer; his grandson, Logan Scott Cryer; his niece, Ashton Cryer; his sister, Gloria Cryer Willis; his niece, Sonja Cryer Hardy; and his brother, Vernon Leavie Cryer.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of music and photography, and the unwavering love he had for his family.

Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Daleville, Mississippi. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m.
