Hickory, Mississippi - Mary Katherine Boone, 82, of Hickory, Miss. passed away on Sept. 10, 2021, at Andersons Regional Medical Center.

She was born on July 25, 1939, to James and Floella Kennedy Lewis in Elwood, Miss.

Mary Katherine is survived by, son, Gary Boone; daughter, Kristi (Scott) Campbell; brother, Roy Lee Lewis; sisters, Alma "Sissy" Louise Wise and Alice Ruth Sox; granddaughter, Casey Renee Boone; grandson, William Andrew Boone; great-granddaughters, Zoie Renee Graham and Addi Boone; great-grandsons, Michael Ian Graham and Noah Boone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Lewis Sr., and Floella Lee Kennedy Lewis; brothers, James "Sonny" Edward Lewis Jr. and Charles Wesley Lewis; sisters, Doris Sisson and Elouise Miller.

Mary Katherine loved gardening, flowers, her cats, and as her family fondly recalls, was also a very excellent cook. Mary Katherine was also very involved in the activities of her church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, 5-9 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Miss. Visitation will also be held prior to the services on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, 10-11 a.m. at the Rose Hill Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Rose Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Kennedy officiating. Burial will take place in the Rose Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
