Funeral Services for Mary Weathers Posey will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at McClain-Hayes Chapel with Bro. Randy Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in McLain Chapel Cemetery.
Mary, 93, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2022, at Atwood Care Home.
Born in House and raised in the Hopewell Community of Kemper, Mary returned for 30 years after living in Germany, Georgia, and Louisiana.
A proud woman with strong values, Mary honored kindness, and family, and had a love for country music, Atlanta Braves, animals, and a good game of Rook.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Richard L. Posey; parents, John C. and Gertrude Weathers; siblings, Dessie Neal, Orbus, Millard, Earl, Charles, James, Lester, Titus, and Ernest.
Survived by daughters, Denise Shepherd and Doris Guice; grandsons, Jason (Rebecca McQueen) Shepherd and David (Amanda) Guice; great-grandchildren; Brooklynn Guice, Callan, and Ellery Shepherd.
