Russell, MS - Perry L. Sims, 82, of Russell, Mississippi, passed away on January 17, 2026, in Meridian.

Perry was born January 2, 1944, in Meridian, Mississippi.

He spent his life building meaningful relationships through his work and his faith. A lifelong salesman, Perry excelled with many companies over the years, most recently in the insurance business working for his friend Ken Parker. In later years, he found great purpose and joy caring for Ken's farm.

Perry was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. His family finds comfort in knowing he is now celebrating in heaven, joyfully reunited with loved ones who meant so much to him.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Sims; his son, Steve Sims (Emily) of Seagrove Beach, Florida; his daughter, Jaye Sims of Russell, Mississippi; his grandson, Peyton Massie of Brandon, Mississippi; and his granddaughters, Addie Sims-Hall (Duke) of San Diego, California, and Kendall Read of Russell, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Sims; his mother, Velma Sims; his brothers, Jimmy Sims and Lewis Sims; and his sister, Janeal Fletcher.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on January 19, 2026, at Old Marion Cemetery in Russell, Mississippi.
