Rosie Lee Boles
Funeral services for Sister Rosie Lee Boles will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, at 2 p.m. at The Evangel Temple. Pastors Mike Boles, Kim Culpepper, and Ronnie Boles will officiate the service. Burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Mrs. Boles, 89, died Sept. 24, 2019, peacefully at her home in Meridian.
She leaves behind two sisters, Mary Boles and Vergie Johnson; daughter and spouse Cathy Culpepper (Kim); son Rev. Mike Boles (Debbie); grandsons Dusty Culpepper (Tori), Jonathan Boles (Kylie), Daniel Boles (Julie), Jared Culpepper (Brandy); 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Lee S. Drachenberg; mother Gertrude Drachenberg; brother Richard Drachenberg; and husband Rev. Melvin Boles.
Born in Houston, Texas, "Sister Rosie", as most would know her, was devoted to the spreading of the Gospel from her early years. She would travel with her family as a young girl to churches and conventions with her father, then tent revivals with her husband, Rev. Melvin Boles after they married. She saw her husband's ministry grow from South Side Tabernacle to the Tuxedo area where the ministry became "The Evangel Temple," to the current location now south of Meridian. She has faithfully supported her son, Pastor Mike's ministry for the past twenty years.
Rosie Boles was the Prayer Warrior of prayer warriors. She founded the Ladies' Prayer Group in the latter 1970's at the Evangel Temple that still meets today. Her legacy of faith has touched thousands throughout the years.
The family wishes to say a special thank you to Hollie Kidd and Southern Care Hospice for their love and care.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Evangel Temple Church.
The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the church.

A special lady and lover of the Lord and gospel. I wish I could have shared her prayer group over the years.
